Community Guidelines
Fortelling's writing challenges are a space for creativity, expression, and community engagement. All participants must adhere to the following community guidelines to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. While we encourage creative freedom, violating these rules may result in content removal, warnings, or a ban from participating in public challenges and other social features.
Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not allowed in the writing challenges:
1. Spam
Definition: Irrelevant, repetitive, or promotional content that disrupts the challenge and is off-topic. This includes:
Posting a story that is not connected to the original writing prompt.
Posting the same story multiple times to gain attention.
Submitting advertisements, product promotions, or referral links.
Posting a link to an external site.
Posting meaningless strings of text or symbols.
2. Nudity & Sexual Content
Definition: Explicit or sexually suggestive content. This includes:
Detailed descriptions of sexual acts.
Pornographic material or links to adult content.
Unnecessary nudity in stories that are not relevant to storytelling.
3. Copyright Violation
Definition: Using someone else's work without permission or proper credit. This includes:
Copying and pasting a published book, poem, or script without credit.
Using characters or settings from copyrighted works without legal authorization.
Plagiarizing another writerβs submission.
4. False Information
Definition: Intentional spreading of misleading or unverified claims as fact. This includes:
Writing fake news stories presented as actual events.
Deliberately misrepresenting scientific or historical facts.
Creating hoaxes or conspiracy theories that could cause harm.
5. Bullying & Harassment
Definition: Targeting individuals with harmful or demeaning language. This includes:
Insulting other writers or their work in a personal manner.
Encouraging harassment or threats toward specific individuals or groups.
Writing content that incites hate against races, genders, religions, or communities.
6. Suicide & Self-Harm Promotion
Definition: Content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicide. This includes:
Encouraging or instructing on self-harm.
Writing stories that romanticize or promote suicide as a solution.
Describing graphic self-harm without a clear, constructive narrative purpose.
7. Violence & Gore
Definition: Excessive violence or glorification of harm. This includes:
Detailed depictions of torture, mutilation, or extreme cruelty.
Writing that promotes violent behavior or encourages harm to others.
Gratuitous descriptions of graphic death or injury without a storytelling purpose.
8. Selling Restricted or Illegal Items
Definition: Promoting the sale of prohibited goods or services. This includes:
Advertising drugs, weapons, or counterfeit goods.
Selling access to pirated materials or stolen accounts.
Encouraging illicit transactions.
9. Unlawful Content
Definition: Content that violates local or international laws. This includes:
Writing that promotes illegal activities such as hacking, fraud, or drug trafficking.
Encouraging criminal behavior or providing instructions on illegal acts.
Threatening violence or engaging in targeted hate speech.
Enforcement & Penalties
If a user violates these guidelines:
First Violation: A warning will be issued, and the content will be removed.
Second Violation: A second warning will be given, and the content will be removed.
Third Violation: The user will be banned from participating in public writing challenges and other social features on the Fortelling platform.
Severe violations (e.g., threats of violence, child exploitation) may result in an immediate ban without prior warnings.
Appeals
Users who believe their content was removed unfairly may appeal by contacting moderation support. However, repeated infractions will not be reconsidered.
