πŸ”—Wiki

Easily share characters, locations, and world-building details from your Fortelling project with a public wiki link.

Wiki Mode lets you create a public link for your Fortelling project’s story elements. Share that link with anyone, and they'll be able to peek at the collection of characters, locations, magical systems, and other juicy tidbits you've carefully curated, without giving away your actual chapters or manuscript.

How to Enable Wiki Mode

  1. Enable Collaboration

    • Head to your project.

    • Click on Project Settings.

    • Go to the Collaboration tab and flip the switch to On.

  2. Turn On Wiki

    • Still in Project Settings, hop onto the Collaboration section.

    • Click Wiki.

    • Toggle Wiki Mode to Enabled.

    • You now have a shareable link.

  3. Copy & Share

    • Copy the generated public link.

    • Paste it anywhere: social media, emails, smoke signals; wherever your audience is!

Pro Tip: Don’t forget to double-check your selections before blasting that link to the universe. You decide what gets the spotlight!

Making It Private Again

Want to dial it back? No problem:

  1. Go to Project Settings β†’ Collaboration β†’ Wiki.

  2. Toggle Wiki Mode to Disabled.

  3. The link instantly goes dark. Only you and your collaborators can now access the project.

Heads-Up: Privacy Controls!

  • Your chapters and raw manuscript NEVER go public. Wiki Mode only shares the story elements you select to share.

  • You must manually pick which characters, locations, world rules, and other bits should be visible on your wiki. By default, nothing is public.

  • To curate your public roster, go to the Story Elements sidebar, click the element (like a character), and flip the Public toggle.

Now go forth, share your lore, and bask in the awesomeness of collaborative fandom. Happy world-building!
